The Arts Council of York County (ACYC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1977, focused on connecting people through art, culture, dance, drama, film, and music.

Under the umbrella of the ACYC are several cultural initiatives, including the Ag + Art Tour of York County, the Underexposed Film Festival yc, the Blues and Jazz Festival of York County, exhibitions at the Center for the Arts, art classes, events, and more.

Marketing Coordinator

(December 2023 - May 2025)

As the Marketing Coordinator at the Arts Council of York County, I was responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that promoted the organization’s programs, events, and initiatives. My work included managing digital content across platforms such as social media, email newsletters, and the ACYC website. I created and scheduled engaging posts, designed promotional materials, and ensured brand consistency across all channels. I also monitored analytics to optimize reach and engagement, tailoring content strategies based on performance insights.

In addition to ACYC programming, I also managed marketing and communications for two of its major initiatives: the Ag + Art Tour of York County and the Underexposed Film Festival YC, building awareness and attendance across diverse audiences.

Besides digital marketing, I supported the production of in-house media, including graphic design, prints distribution, filming, editing, and publishing artist interviews and event recaps. I coordinated press outreach, developed written materials such as press releases, and maintained distribution lists.

A key part of my role involved community engagement; collaborating with local artists, partners, and stakeholders to amplify their voices and promote arts accessibility throughout York County, South Carolina, and surrounding areas.

Reason for leaving: Relocated to Moore County, NC.

Gallery Talks

As the Marketing Coordinator at the Arts Council of York County, I had the unique opportunity to prepare, direct, film, and edit gallery talk interviews with featured artists. Using just my iPhone 13 and a set of personal microphones, I captured authentic conversations that highlight the incredible local and national talent showcased in our galleries. This hands-on process allowed me to connect deeply with this community.

ACYC Weekly Newsletter Reach

At ACYC, we sent out a weekly newsletter via Constant Contact. I managed a database of 7079 subscribers, and a total of 334 distribution lists.

The newsletter featured ACYC events and calls, arts news (one national and one local), partner arts calendars, and grant opportunities. I also regularly designed e-blasts to spotlight major events and announcements, sending them to more specifically targeted lists. These were typically scheduled based on our open rate analytics.
